Tornado Warning-25 Feb, 2016

Updated  25,Feb. 2016

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- THURSDAY: Some leftover drizzle and a few showers are possible. Otherwise, clouds may break for some sun. It's blustery. Temperatures are still mild, but our high of 53likely occurs early in the afternoon. We'll be closer to 50 by sundown and plunging into the 30s overnight.

FRIDAY: The last day of the work week features a cold start and a blustery, chilly finish. Look for plenty of sunshine, but winds will gust to around 40 mph and temperatures will be in the 30s most of the day. The high is near 40. At the best of times, wind chills will make it feel like we're around freezing.

SATURDAY: We see partly sunny skies, but it's still chilly with a high of just 44.

SUNDAY: A mixture of clouds and sunshine is in store. We turn milder during the afternoon as the high climbs to 60.

MONDAY: It's mild with a lot of clouds. A period of rain is not out of the question as a cold front moves in. The high is 63.

TUESDAY: Cooler air returns behind the departing front. We're partly sunny with a cooler high of 54 for the first day of March. (This is still several degrees above average, so not too bad).

WEDNESDAY: Look for clouds and possible rain, especially in the afternoon and evening. The high is 52.

Lionel Messi puts Gunners to the sword as home side are outclassed

It really is the hope that kills you and nobody knows how to snatch it away quite like Lionel Messi and Barcelona.

For 70 minutes of this Champions League round of 16 first-leg tie, Arsenal held their own and traded punches with the best team on the planet.

Arsène Wenger’s players overcame their early apprehension and developed the belief that they could even claim a crucial and unexpected advantage ahead of the return game in Catalonia.

But despite Messi having one of his quieter nights, the magical Argentine walked off the pitch with two goals and Barcelona’s passport to the quarter-finals in his hands following a typically beautiful – and brutal – display of his killer instinct.

You have to feel for Arsenal, but when you are up against the very best, there are no answers to brief flashes of genius and they must now brace themselves for yet another exit from the Champions League before the real business kicks in.

For Arsenal to have any hope of staying alive in this tie ahead of the second leg in the Nou Camp next month, Wenger’s players simply had to display the tactical discipline which was crucial to their 2-0 group stage victory against Bayern Munich at the Emirates last October.

This was not an occasion for the carefree football that Arsenal are capable of producing to devastating effect against domestic opponents and those supporters inside the stadium also had to buy into the more passive approach.

As the clock ticked past 15 minutes, statistics showing that Arsenal had enjoyed just 30 per cent of possession emphasised the unique challenge they faced against Luis Enrique’s team, but the numbers also highlighted the Wenger game plan.

Whenever Barcelona had the ball – which was fairly regularly – nine red shirts dropped back behind the ball, with only centre-forward Olivier Giroud remaining free to occupy centre-halves  Gerard Pique and Javier Mascherano.

It was not quite as defensive as Chelsea’s backs-to-the-wall semi-final triumph against Barcelona in the 2012 semi-final, but Arsenal were certainly making life difficult for Messi and Co.

As Wenger had insisted prior to the game, Arsenal had to find the “right balance between being audacious and defensively strong”, but that was easier said than done.

Barcelona may have lacked bite with the ball for much of the first half, but they certainly knew how to keep hold of it and starve Arsenal of possession. As a consequence, the home side were forced to make the most of their sporadic counter-attacks and forays into Marc-André ter Stegen’s area.

Facing a team that had been unbeaten in 32 games, stretching back to a defeat against Sevilla in October, Arsenal initially snatched at their chances, perhaps not believing that they had actually worked a sight of goal.

Aaron Ramsey saw a scuffed shot blocked by Mascherano, with Pique going on to snuff out a Mesut Özil shot before Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain shinned a close-range effort into the arms of Ter Stegen on 22 minutes.

Later, Pique seemingly got himself deliberately booked with a challenge on Danny Welbeck which sees him miss the second leg and have his slate wiped clean for the quarter-finals.

But while Arsenal were struggling to turn water into wine with their half-chances, Petr Cech was enjoying a relatively quiet first half at the other end. The former Chelsea goalkeeper went into this game defending the enviable distinction of having never conceded a goal against Messi in six encounters.

It would be pushing it to described Cech as some kind of Messi-kryptonite, but the Arsenal keeper had little to worry about from the Argentine in the opening period.

The closest Messi came to testing Cech was after 35 minutes when, after earning a free-kick on the edge of the penalty area following a collision with Laurent Koscielny, he aimed his shot low and into the feet of Giroud in the wall.

It summed up Messi’s early contribution and Luis Suarez fared little better – heading wide in stoppage time having done little else prior to that.

As the second half began, Arsenal clearly felt that this game could be there for the taking and Özil and Alexis Sanchez upped the tempo.

It was becoming an equal battle, although the threat of Messi, Suarez and Neymar on the counter hung like a cloak over the game. Between them, the so-called MSN triumvirate had scored 91 goals in all competitions ahead of this first leg, but none of them had brought their  A-game to the Emirates.

Neymar looked the sharpest and would have scored the opener on 49 minutes but for the outstretched leg of Cech. Neymar then almost created an opening for Dani Alves, only to take one touch too many before working the opening. It was the same story moments later when Alves, Messi and Neymar combined, only for Per Mertesacker to cut out the Brazilian forward’s square ball.

Barcelona were guilty of overplaying, attempting to walk the ball into the net, and Arsenal were able to ride the storm and test the European champions at the other end.

Özil’s cross to Giroud saw the Frenchman’s shot blocked by Mascherano before Giroud forced a stunning save from Ter Stegen seconds later with a towering header.

Having seen Suarez flash a shot across goal, Arsenal began to creak and the opening goal came on 71 minutes after a breathtaking counter by Suarez, Neymar and Messi.

Messi’s finish, having taken a touch before beating Cech for the first time, was neat and tidy, but Neymar’s pass was exquisite – an unselfish display of awareness to tee up his team-mate.

Arsenal now had to either stick or twist, but they were unable to see the game out with a 1-0 deficit that would have given them a slither of hope in the Nou Camp.

A rash challenge by substitute Mathieu Flamini on Messi left referee Cuneyt Cakir with no option but to point the spot. Messi stepped up and scored to send hope heading for the exits with every other heartbroken Arsenal supporter

National Margarita Day 2016

About
National Margarita Day 2015 is Feb. 22!
We pay tribute and honor the margarita on this special day of celebration.  We so deeply respect and value its place in our history that we have set aside Feb. 22 of every year as National Margarita Day.
Loved and consumed by millions, friends and families around the world honor this sacred tequila, triple sec and lime drink every year on February 22.
There is much debate as to the exact individual responsible for inventing the classic margarita, although it was during the 1930’s or 1940’s.  Frozen margaritas were invented later in 1970’s when an inventive bartender converted a soft serve ice cream unit into a frozen margarita machine.  Whether you prefer a classic margarita on the rocks or frozen, it is the most common tequila based cocktail in the United States today.  Hence National Margarita Day!
Are out looking for the best margarita?  Best is relative!  The margarita has developed into so many different flavors and varieties, each differing slightly depending on region.  A few of the more popular flavors include Strawberry Margarita, Mango Margarita, Limeade Margarita, Watermelon Margarita, Pomegranate Margarita, Raspberry Margarita and Blackberry Margarita.
National Margarita Day was started to celebrate the margarita, plain and simple.   Friendship, good times and memories of somewhere warmer are all great reasons to enjoy a margarita.

11 Delicious, Glorious Ways to Celebrate National Pizza Day

Time to start thinking about your Pizza Resolutions

February is a great month because it contains a very important holiday that allows you to celebrate your one true love.

And no, you sap, we are not talking about Valentine’s Day. We are talking about National Pizza Day, which falls on February 9. (Quick note: most of these National Whatever Days are totally fake. But we’re not going to turn down the opportunity to celebrate pizza. So here we are.)

You’re probably planning to observe this important day by just scarfing down a slice after work. But you can do so much more than that to truly honor the glory of pizza. Here are some suggestions.

1. Go on a pizza crawl. Do a little research to find the best pizza joints in your city and then plan out a route. We believe in you and your pizza-eating abilities, but make sure you don’t end up in a debilitating food coma. Keep hydrated throughout the day and maybe walk instead of driving or taking public transit when possible. You can handle this. (If you live in a city like New York or Chicago, you could also check out guided pizza tours.)

2. Wear pizza clothing. All day. Remember that time Beyoncé wore a head-to-toe pizza outfit? You can totally rock that too. Pizza high-top sneakers? Yes. A pizza bucket hat? Absolutely. A straight-up PIZZA JUMPSUIT? If you’re willing to drop $100 on it, by all means.

3. Challenge your friends to a pizza bakeoff. If you host the event at your house, you get to be the judge. Group your friends into teams beforehand so they can strategize and shop for ingredients, and then sit back and wait for them to wow you. Taste is obviously the most important criteria here, but you should also factor in creativity, presentation, and passion. Passion is key.

4. Give your friends pizza-themed gifts. People give each other gifts on holidays like Christmas—so why not on National Pizza Day? If you have a group of seven friends, we recommend this brilliant pizza slice friendship necklace. Or some pizza lip balm.

5. Bring pizza to work. Since National Pizza Day falls on a Tuesday, you’ll probably be at work. Order some pizzas to the office and be a true hero. (Or just invite the people you actually like to visit the nearest pizzeria at lunchtime.)

6. Cook a multi-course meal where every course is a form of pizza. For your hors d’oeuvres as your guests arrive (or for you to munch on alone, no judgment): pizza lollipops or mini deep-dish pizzas. For your appetizer: pizza soup or a white pizza with an arugula salad on top. For your main course: whatever kind of pizza you desire. We recommend one classic, like pepperoni, and one fancy one, like this pear, prosciutto and gorgonzola pie. For dessert: Nutella pizza. All the way.

7. Come up with Pizza Resolutions. Think of this as the first day of the new pizza year. What are you pizza-related goals for the next 12 months? Some resolutions could include: eat healthier pizza (arugula on top! do it!), expand your pizza horizons and try different styles, be better about sharing pizza with your friends, overcome your fears and try toppings you don’t think you like, etc.

8. Buy a rat and train it to drag pizza around your apartment. You’ll go viral, and then once you figure out how to monetize your virality, think of how much money you’ll have to buy more pizza!

9. Give pizza to a baby for the first time. Imagine getting to witness a human being experiencing pizza for the very first time. Consider recording the baby and, again, you could go viral. Make sure you get permission from the baby’s parents.

10. Give back to the pizza community with Random Acts of Pizza. There’s a magical section of Reddit called Random Acts of Pizza where people join together to deliver a pizza to someone in need. Help send the joy of pizza to someone who just lost their job and can’t afford to feed himself—or even just someone who’s feeling kind of lonely and could use a smile. (Just, uh, beware of con artists.)

11. Spend some quality time alone with pizza. Just you and pizza. Turn off your phone, put away your laptop, dim the lights, and remember why you fell in love in the first place.

10 Collectibles That Are Completely Worthless-Courtesy The Street

At some point in many of our lives, we've tried to complete a collection of something. There's just something about having an incomplete set of collectibles that triggers this desire in our brains to go out and gather the rest of them because...well, that's a question for another day.

But if we're truly honest with ourselves, many of the collectibles we've tried to amass, either as children or as adults, were ultimately rendered worthless. We spent all that time and money to finish the set only to realize that we wasted our resources.

So looking back on it, what are some of the most devalued collections out there? We checked out some of the collectibles up for auction on eBay (EBAY) and compared them against current selling prices for the same item on Amazon (AMAZON) . Here's our list of 15 collectibles that tend to be more worthless than not.

Hummel Figurines

Highest Price on eBay (as of 05/26/15): $8,500

Lowest Price on Amazon (as of 07/16/15): $20.01

These saccharine-sweet ceramic figurines first appeared in 1935 as three-dimensional representations of drawings by German nun Maria Innocentia Hummel.

When U.S. soldiers returned from Germany after World War II, they brought these keepsakes home for their wives and children. In the '60s and '70s, the figurines made their way into Hallmark stores and airport gift shops. As more Hummel figurines were produced and countless "special editions" were created, the resale value of these ceramics began to sink.

The supply of Hummels just keeps growing as the generations that collected Hummels pass away, leaving behind thousands of their diminishing-value dust-collectors.

Lladro Statues

Highest Price on eBay (as of 05/26/15): $18,500

Lowest Price on Amazon (as of 07/16/15): $18.95

Unlike the other collectibles mentioned above, Lladro figurines can start from a lofty price point. But, in the secondary market, it's a different story. Many of these figures are sold on eBay for more than half of what they were originally worth.

As with many "limited edition" collectibles, the supply isn't so limited. A $1,800 figure called "Let's Swing," for example, has a "limited edition" of 3,000 figures. Even the $9,500 "Alexander Nevski" statuette is sold in editions of at least 500. The figurine maker takes pride in its "retired" pieces, but like many retirees, they're not hard to get ahold of once they leave the shop.

Thomas Kinkade Paintings

Highest Price on eBay (as of 05/26/15): $21,000

Lowest Price on Amazon (as of 07/16/15): $15.10

Mr. Kinkade called himself the "painter of light." That may be true, but his light paintings don't really amount to much in the dollar department these days.

His works became so popular that his company, Media Arts Group, went public in 1994. But the stock lost more than 80% of its value and Kinkade bought it back for $32.7 million in 2004.

The paintings were extremely popular up until the 1990s, when the Internet made them available to pretty much anyone who wanted one. The market became over-saturated with his work and the value of the pieces plummeted.

Precious Moments Figurines

Highest Price on eBay (as of 05/26/15): $1,200

Lowest Price on Amazon (as of 07/16/15): $1.86

Precious Moments figurines unfortunately offer some of the worst return value for the original price. The little figures could retail for as much as $45, but you can pick some up on Amazon for less than $5.

Norman Rockwell Plates

Highest Price on eBay (as of 05/26/15): $1,049

Lowest Price on Amazon (as of 07/16/15): $14.99

It may not be much of a surprise to learn that a collection of plates honoring the work of an artist who passed away in 1978, and whose works were widely available prior to his death, isn't worth all that much. Multiple companies manufactured the plates, including Goebel, The Bradford Exchange, The Danbury Mint and The Knowles/Rockwell Society.

Beanie Babies

Highest Price on eBay (as of 05/26/15): $499,000

Lowest Price on Amazon (as of 07/16/15): $0.01

These little stuffed animals were everywhere in the 1990s. Parents and children alike hoarded the bean-stuffed plush toys as if they were going to spontaneously turn to gold. And therein was the problem. The item became so popular that Ty, the company that produced the adorable creatures, pumped them out to the point where the market became oversaturated.

Sure, some of the ultra-rare items are worth a fortune. The Princess Diana Beanie Babies, for example, could net you hundreds of thousands of dollars. But the average toy you or your parents purchased in the 90s isn't worth enough to buy you anything these days.

Happy Meal Toys

Highest Price on eBay (as of 05/26/15): $299.95

Lowest Price on Amazon (as of 07/16/15): $0.01

As a child, it was always exciting to get a Happy Meal at McDonald's because of the little toy that came with it. And in the back of your mind, you thought that it might be worth something down the road if you got an entire set and kept the toys sealed. Unfortunately, child you was wrong.

A set of 400 Happy Meal toys from across three decades is worth only about $500 on eBay. Consider that you probably spent a few dollars per meal, and all you got for your troubles was almost worthless products and possibly high cholesterol.

Cabbage Patch Kids

Highest Price on eBay (as of 05/26/15): $1,499.99

Lowest Price on Amazon (as of 07/16/15): $8.99

Xavier Roberts first introduced these toys at craft fairs in the 1970s, but they exploded in popularity in the 1980s when Coleco bought the brand and turned parents into crazed lunatics that actually caused riots trying to buy the dolls for their children during the holidays.

The dolls cost approximately $25, but many of them are not even worth that price today. Some dolls from the 80s sell for less than $10 on eBay.

Franklin Mint Collectibles

Highest Price on eBay (as of 05/26/15): $3,200

Lowest Price on Amazon (as of 07/16/15): $13.95

Franklin Mint has made its name manufacturing a variety of collectible items, such as coins, jewelry, dolls, sculptures and even die cast vehicles. Unfortunately, most of these items are worth nowhere near their original sale price once you take them home.

Coins with the faces of U.S. presidents, for example, may have sold for more than $250 originally, but some complete collections on eBay are valued at less than $40.

Marbles

Highest Price on eBay (as of 05/26/15): $7,500

Lowest Price on Amazon (as of 07/16/15): $0.99

This one is just downright baffling. Sure, marbles are pretty, but the generic colorful varieties are almost worthless. You can buy an entire bag's worth for 99 cents.

The only real value in this collectible comes in the ultra-rare versions, such as China marbles. Europeans began crafting these ceramic beauties in the 19th century, and only a handful of so-called "scenic" marbles, which portray pastoral scenes around the equator of the marble and feature pinwheel patterns on the ends, remain in existence. A pastoral is worth approximately $10,000, but they're nearly impossible to find.

Hess Trucks

Highest Price on eBay (as of 05/26/15): $1,700

Lowest Price on Amazon (as of 07/16/15): $6.00

Hess started releasing its now-famous trucks in 1964 and they exploded in popularity by the 1980s. The models became more intricate and started to include space shuttles and probes, motorcycles and other vehicles to go alongside the standard trucks.

Resale value of the trucks started to decline around this time as production increased. Because of this, only the trucks from the 1960s and 1970s hold any significant value. You can find Hess trucks from the 1990s for around $5 on eBay.

Daniel Bryan "Maybe My Brain Wasn't As OK As I Thought It Was"

Daniel Bryan "Maybe My Brain Wasn't As OK As I Thought It Was"
Professional wrestler

Bryan Lloyd Danielson, better known by his ring name Daniel Bryan, is a retired American professional wrestler. He is best known for his tenure with WWE, with whom he is contracted.
Born: May 22, 1981 (age 34), Aberdeen, Washington, United States
Height: 1.78 m
Spouse: Brie Bella (m. 2014)
Books: Yes!: My Improbable Journey to the Main Event of WrestleMania
Trained by: William Regal, Shawn Michaels, Tracy Smothers, Masato Tanaka
Movies and TV shows: WWE NXT, more

One of professional wrestling’s most popular performers shocked the community today when Daniel Bryan announced suddenly on Twitter that he was retiring, effective immediately. Tonight on Raw, Bryan told the Seattle audience—many of whom were seen openly weeping—that “I don’t want to be doing this any more than you don’t want me to be doing this.”

Bryan had spent months in an attempt to get cleared for a return to wrestling, but WWE concussion expert Dr. Joseph Maroon—you remember him from downplaying the role of CTE in professional football—has reportedly refused to give Bryan the O.K. to return despite Bryan getting cleared by his own doctors. Wrestling observers have reported Bryan—real name Bryan Danielson—underwent a new kind of concussion test that convinced the WWE superstar that his career should come to an end, and Bryan confirmed that test in his appearance:

Within the first five months of my wrestling career, I’d already had three concussions. For years after that, I would get a concussion here and there, or here, or there, and it gets to the point when you’ve been wrestling for 16 years that it adds up to a lot of concussions. It gets to a point where they tell you that you can’t wrestle anymore.

I have loved this in a way that I have never loved anything else. But a week and a half ago I took a test that said maybe my brain wasn’t as OK as I thought it was. And I have a family to think about, and my wife and I want to start having kids soon.

I’ve been angry, I’ve been said, I’ve been frustrated, and all that. But when I woke up this morning, I felt nothing but gratitude.
The show opened with a brief tribute to Bryan’s career, and continued airing highlight reels throughout the night:

The show continued on WWE Network; given that Bryan’s off-script and out-of-character admission that pro wrestling “is fiction” at last year’s Hall of Fame ceremony was wiped from WWE’s archives, there’s some question as to whether a very non-kayfabe sight like this would pass the bookers’ muster for Raw proper. Either way, one fairly ridiculous thing seems clear: the scripted world of pro wrestling cares more about its athletes’ brain health than the NFL does.
You guys got behind me in a way that made me feel like I was more than just me. And for that, I’m grateful.
